Come View New Intersection Design for Driver Safety in Statesboro
Statesboro, Ga. – Georgia DOT and Bulloch County Board of Commissioners announces a Public Information Open House to discuss the new intersection design called an RCUT (Restricted Crossing U-turn) to be located on Veterans Memorial Parkway/US 25 at Cypress Lake Road. The public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department headquarters located at 1 Max Lockwood Dr. in Statesboro.
The public is encouraged to come out to view the proposed RCUT intersection design and discuss the project with Georgia DOT and Bulloch County staff and give comments. There will be no formal presentation, so stop by at any point during the meeting.
An RCUT is a median opening with an island in the middle that prevents motorists on side streets from turning left or going straight. Left turns are still allowed on the mainline, U.S. 25 in this case. All side street traffic must turn right and then make a U-turn at an opening downstream.
