RECORDS CLERK – PROBATE (PART-TIME, LIMITED HOURS, TEMPORARY) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Bulloch County Probate Court is seeking a Records Clerk for a temporary special project. This position is responsible for scanning and archiving documents. Candidates must have strong computer skills as well as the ability to perform repetitive tasks from a seated and/or standing position. Requires a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving history and criminal background. (NOTE: This position is temporary and involves very limited hours. No specific duration or hours are guaranteed.) Pay rate is $7.25 per hour. Position will be open until September 1, 2017.
HAND DETAIL/GROUND CREW CORRECTIONAL OFFICER (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Want to work as a correctional officer while enjoying the great outdoors? Bulloch County has immediate openings! This position is responsible for supervising inmates involved in right-of-way maintenance on county roads. Employees in these positions perform both labor and supervision duties. Knowledge of Department of Corrections guidelines and experience with hand tools preferred, but not required. (We will train you!) Selected employee must become POST-certified within 6 months of hire. Georgia driver’s license and high school diploma or GED required. Excellent benefits package.
HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR III (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Can you operate heavy equipment? (Motor graders, excavators, bulldozers?) Would you like to train to become a correctional officer? This job will allow you to do both! Employees in these positions operate various heavy equipment and supervise inmates for the purpose of maintenance and construction of county roads, drainage systems and special projects. Requirements: experience operating equipment, a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and a high school diploma or GED. Selected employee must become POST-certified within 6 months of hire. Excellent benefits package.
MECHANIC (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Do you have experience working as a mechanic? Are you looking for a job that will allow you to use those skills AND provide an excellent benefits package? We have an immediate opening for a mechanic to maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and vehicles, ensuring that all are safe and in working order. The mechanic supervises the shop area and maintains records and inventory. Three to five years of relevant experience required, along with a valid Georgia driver’s license and satisfactory driving history. Come join the team!
ANIMAL SHELTER ATTENDANT (PART-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for assisting the Animal Shelter Manager at the Bulloch County Animal Shelter, including animal care, customer service, recordkeeping, and facility maintenance. Duties include cleaning and feeding of animals, assisting customers with adoptions, and assisting with facility needs. Candidate must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and be able to obtain certification from a local veterinarian in order to give medication. Employee must be able to work both weekday and weekend hours, including holidays. $7.60 per hour. Position will be open until filled.
MOTOR VEHICLE SPECIALISLT (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for performing tasks associated with motor vehicle titles, registrations, insurance compliance, ad valorem taxes and sales tax collections. Duties include examining and approving documents; calculating, processing and collecting taxes and fees; preparing reports, forms and other documents; and responding to questions. Must be able to function well in a high-stress environment with constant customer interaction. High school diploma or GED required, along with a valid driver’s license and the ability to be bonded and obtain security access. Two years’ experience in a clerical, data entry and/or bookkeeping role preferred. $11.29 per hour. Position will be open until filled.
FLEET SUPERINTENDENT (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for the operation of Bulloch County’s vehicle maintenance, welding and painting shops. Duties include planning, managing and overseeing operations, supervising the work of employees and inmates, diagnosing and evaluating mechanical problems, determining when to refer work to other vendors, and coordinating communications and vehicle/equipment movement until repairs and maintenance are complete. Class A Commercial Driver’s License and a high school diploma or GED required. Specialized training and/or certification (CAFM, ASE, OEM) is preferred, along with experience in a large scale automotive, industrial and construction equipment fleet operation. Starting pay is $40,448. Position will be open until filled.
DEPUTY-JAIL (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for Deputy Sheriff. This is an entry level position in the Sheriff’s Jail Operations Division and will involve prisoner supervision including but not limited to initial intake/search, booking, housing/feeding, transport, and reception. Successful applicants will attend training to receive State of Georgia Jail Deputy Certification with all associated expenses paid for by the Sheriff’s Office. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to apply to attend the Georgia Police Academy after one year of service. Experience in the public safety/security field or prior military service is preferred but not required. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving and criminal history. $12.35 per hour.
