Building Inspector (Full-Time) – CLOSED – Position Filled
Bulloch County’s Building & Zoning Department is accepting applications for a Building Inspector. This position performs a variety of routine and complex technical work in building inspection work to insure that uniform building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, energy conservation, and other codes and standards are met. This position is also responsible for enforcing state and local codes and ordinances duties in a backup capacity, performing technical work to ensure that all codes and ordinances are adhered to throughout the County.
The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or a G.E.D. and two (2) years experience related to building inspection, land use, public administration, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. ICC Certification is preferred. Must have a driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia. Pay range is $15.19-18.98 an hour depending on experience. Criminal background check and driving history are required prior to hire.
Motor Vehicle Specialist (Full-Time) – OPEN – Accepting Applications
The Bulloch County Tax Commissioner’s Office is accepting applications for a Motor Vehicle Specialist. This position performs specialized and responsible tasks associated with motor vehicle titles, registrations, insurance compliance, ad valorem taxes, sales tax collections, and title ad valorem tax. Applicants should have the ability to read and interpret legal documents, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and safety rules. A high school diploma or GED is required, as is two years clerical experience at a complex and responsible level and two or more years experience in data entry. Job requires high stress level in dealing with the public. Experience in receiving money and bookkeeping knowledge is preferred, but not required. Driving History and Criminal Background Check are required prior to hire. Position will remain open until filled. Pay is $10.75 an hour.
CORRECTIONAL OFFICER – WORK DETAIL (Full-Time) – OPEN – Accepting Applications
This position is responsible for supervising inmates involved in right-of-way maintenance on county roads. The duties of this position are varied; serving as a hand labor detail performing various duties including but not limited to picking up litter, maintaining drainage systems, clearing of vegetation. This position exercises supervisory control over inmates. Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent; a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia, and be P.O.S.T. Certified for Corrections Officers (CO). Certified Correctional Officers will be hired starting at $11.91 an hour. Drug screening, background check, and driving history are required prior to hire. AQUATICS MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (FULL-TIME) – OPEN – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for an Aquatics Maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for performing daily maintenance and repairs on attractions, facilities, and equipment, develop and implement preventive maintenance schedule on all equipment, facilities, and attractions, and monitor water quality and perform daily inspections of pools, filtration systems, pumps, and features. This position is responsible for training and supervising part-time seasonal maintenance staff. The successful candidate must have at minimum a high school diploma or a G.E.D. with bachelor’s degree preferred and a minimum of two (2) years related work experience with formal training in plumbing and electrical systems a plus.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) certification required or be able to obtain within the first 3 months of employment. Certified in first aid and CPR or able to obtain within 3 months of employment. Must have a driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia. Salary range starts at $31,598.56. Criminal background check and driving history are required prior to hire. Position will remain open until filled.
