CASE MANAGER (PART-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for providing case management and administrative support to the Bulloch County Mental Health Court (aka Bulloch County Accountability/Treatment Court) and its participants. The Case Manager works directly with the Program Coordinator. Duties will include communication and interaction with program participants, judicial officials, and others; monitoring and ensuring program compliance; preparation of reports and other records; assisting with policy development and special projects; general office duties such as filing and answering phones. A two-year degree in criminal justice, social services or psychology, along with one year of related experience in a legal, clinical or case management setting is desired. A valid Georgia driver’s license is required. Minimum pay rate is $13.49 per hour. Position will be open until filled.
DEPUTY-JAIL (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for Deputy Sheriff. This is an entry level position in the Sheriff’s Jail Operations Division and will involve prisoner supervision including but not limited to initial intake/search, booking, housing/feeding, transport, and reception. Successful applicants will attend training to receive State of Georgia Jail Deputy Certification with all associated expenses paid for by the Sheriff’s Office. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to apply to attend the Georgia Police Academy after one year of service. Experience in the public safety/security field or prior military service is preferred but not required. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving and criminal history. $12.35 per hour.
MECHANIC (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for maintaining machinery, equipment, vehicles, etc., and insuring that all equipment is safe and in working order. The employee performs preventative maintenance and repairs, and maintains all records, as well as supervising the shop area, including all tools and hand tools. Three to five years of relevant experience is required, along with a valid Georgia driver’s license and satisfactory driving history. Starting pay is $12.84 per hour. Position will be open until filled.
HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR III (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for operating various heavy equipment and supervising inmates for the purpose of maintenance and construction of county roads, drainage systems and special projects. Candidates must be able to operate a variety of heavy equipment including motor grader, excavator, bulldozer, etc., and be willing to work in an outdoor environment exposed to hot, cold, and inclement weather conditions. Knowledge of Department of Corrections guidelines preferred. Candidates must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) as well as a high school diploma or GED. Selected employee must become POST-certified within 6 months of hire. Starting pay depends upon experience; minimum is $12.89 per hour. Position will be open until filled.
HAND DETAIL/GROUND CREW CORRECTIONAL OFFICER (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for supervising inmates involved in right-of-way maintenance on county roads, including shoveling of dirt/sediment from drainage areas/pipes, clearing, tree removal, and removal of debris and trash. Candidates must be willing to perform both labor and supervision duties and to work in an outdoor environment exposed to hot, cold, and inclement weather conditions. Knowledge of Department of Corrections guidelines and experience with hand tools preferred. Candidates must have a valid Georgia driver’s license as well as a high school diploma or GED. Selected employee must become POST-certified within 6 months of hire. Starting pay is $11.67 per hour. Position will be open until filled.
