COUNTY ENGINEER (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position provides responsible and complex strategic, administrative and technical support for planning, directing, managing, and overseeing the activities and operations of the County’s civil engineering function, including all public works projects and related regulatory functions. Employee works under the general guidance and direction of the County Manager. Work is reviewed upon completion for accuracy, compliance with instructions and procedures, and the nature and propriety of the work. Functional authority over internal personnel and outside consultants for engineering related activities and assigned projects, as determined by the County Manager and the Assistant County Manager. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering is required. A minimum of five (5) years previous professional civil engineering experience is required, preferably with varied responsibilities and duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures, roads, stormwater and drainage structures, bridges, and utilities. Required licenses and certification include a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia, licensure or registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Georgia; certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) is desirable, NPDES Level II certification, or the ability to obtain is also desirable. RECREATION SUPERVISOR – CONCESSIONS (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position provides supervision and management of concessions operations for the Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department while also assisting the Aquatics Division Manager in other operations as needed. The Concessions Manager is responsible for staffing, sales, inventory, and financial operations of the concessions function, to include budgeting, recordkeeping, payroll, and related activities. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, coupled with at least five (5) years of experience in a similar size recreation department, is expected; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Candidate must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record. Supervisory experience preferred. Minimum starting salary is $33,197. Position will be open until filled.
TRUCK DRIVER (FULL-TIME)– ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for operating a front loader and/or roll-off vehicle to collect solid waste refuse in Bulloch County, transport materials to the transfer station/recycling facility, and redistribute empty trash receptacles. Duties also include supervising inmates and assisting in vehicle maintenance. A high school diploma or GED is required. Qualified candidates must have (or be able to readily obtain) a valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), an acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR), and the ability to become P.O.S.T. certified within 6 months of hire. $10.47 per hour. AGRICULTURAL COMPLEX MANAGER (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
The Agricultural Complex Manager will direct and supervise services for the Bulloch County Agricultural Complex, to include marketing, scheduling and managing events; supervising staff; and managing food service, maintenance, and security functions. Other duties include budgeting, record-keeping, staffing, and implementation of administrative, operational and safety policies and procedures specific to the Complex. Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a similar multi-use facility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, along with thorough knowledge of agricultural and equine organizations. EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for maintaining athletic fields, park areas, and facilities. Candidate must be able to operate mowers, tractors, dump truck, and small engine equipment as well as perform preventative maintenance. Job responsibilities include removal of trash and leaves around facilities, preparing athletic fields for play, and general maintenance of parks and other grounds. Candidate should have one to three years’ experience. A valid Georgia driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Position will be open until filled.
HAND DETAIL/GROUND CREW CORRECTIONAL OFFICER (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Want to work as a correctional officer while enjoying the great outdoors? Bulloch County has immediate openings! This position is responsible for supervising inmates involved in right-of-way maintenance on county roads. Employees in these positions perform both labor and supervision duties. Knowledge of Department of Corrections guidelines and experience with hand tools preferred, but not required. (We will train you!) HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR III (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Can you operate heavy equipment? (Motor graders, excavators, bulldozers?) Would you like to train to become a correctional officer? This job will allow you to do both! Employees in these positions operate various heavy equipment and supervise inmates for the purpose of maintenance and construction of county roads, drainage systems and special projects. Requirements: experience operating equipment, a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and a high school diploma or GED. MECHANIC (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

We have an immediate opening for a mechanic to maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and vehicles, ensuring that all are safe and in working order. The mechanic supervises the shop area and maintains records and inventory. FLEET SUPERINTENDENT (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for the operation of Bulloch County’s vehicle maintenance, welding and painting shops. Duties include planning, managing and overseeing operations, supervising the work of employees and inmates, diagnosing and evaluating mechanical problems, determining when to refer work to other vendors, and coordinating communications and vehicle/equipment movement until repairs and maintenance are complete. Class A Commercial Driver’s License and a high school diploma or GED required. Specialized training and/or certification (CAFM, ASE, OEM) is preferred, along with experience in a large scale automotive, industrial and construction equipment fleet operation. Starting pay is $40,448. Position will be open until filled.
DEPUTY-JAIL (FULL-TIME) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for Deputy Sheriff. This is an entry level position in the Sheriff’s Jail Operations Division and will involve prisoner supervision including but not limited to initial intake/search, booking, housing/feeding, transport, and reception. Successful applicants will attend training to receive State of Georgia Jail Deputy Certification with all associated expenses paid for by the Sheriff’s Office. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to apply to attend the Georgia Police Academy after one year of service. Experience in the public safety/security field or prior military service is preferred but not required. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving and criminal history. $12.35 per hour.
