HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR – (Full-time) – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position performs a variety of complex administrative, technical and professional work in directing and overseeing the human resources functions for the organization. The work is accomplished independently by directing, advising or conferring with elected officials, management and employees to perform the functions based on best practices. The Human Resources Director works under the immediate supervision of the Assistant County Manager, and as applicable to compensation and benefits accounting, to the Chief Financial Officer, with broad guidance and direction by the County Manager and County Attorney, when needed. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree with major coursework in human resources management, organizational development or public administration, a master’s degree is preferred; a minimum of five (5) years of professional level experience with two (2) years of related supervisory experience, preferably in public sector organizations of similar size and scope. An equivalent combination of education, training or experience will be considered. ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN/RECEPTIONIST – FINANCE – (Full-time) – OPEN – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for a variety of routine clerical and administrative duties, customer service duties, accounting duties, and providing support to others in the Finance Department. Assists the Clerk of the Board with the intake of applications and issuance of occupational tax certificates, alcoholic beverage licenses, and other similar revenue permits. Receipts funds received by the Finance Department, prepares deposits and daily reports, and enters revenue and other accounting data into the accounting system. Prepares journal entries and packets to record transactions for various departments. High school diploma or GED; graduation from a college or university with an associate’s degree in accounting, or a closely related field is preferred; three years (3) year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year for year basis. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – HUMAN RESOURCES – (Part-time) – OPEN – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for assisting Human Resources staff in routine, administrative tasks related to the management of the Human Resources Department. The employee performs clerical and receptionist duties including filing of personnel documents and providing assistance to County employees. Starting pay rate is $8 hourly. JAIL-DEPUTY – SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT – (FULL-TIME) – 3 OPEN POSITIONS – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for prisoners, including initial search and issuing of clothing and bedding, classification, and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed, and appropriately filed and forwarded to the Shift Sergeant. This position supervises prisoners from initial intake/search, booking, housing/feeding/medication, transport, and reception duties. Positions will be open until filled. Starting pay rate is $12.28 hourly.
ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER – (Full-time) – OPEN – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for enforcement of the animal control laws of Bulloch County; capturing stray, nuisance, and dangerous animals; and providing aid to injured animals. ANIMAL SHELTER ATTENDANT – (Full-time) – OPEN – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for assisting the Animal Shelter Manager at the Bulloch County Animal Shelter. Duties include: ensuring animals have sufficient food and water; ensuring that animals are clean; providing information and assistance to citizens concerning pets and adoption procedures; assisting in facility closure each day including locking facility and ensuring pet safety, and euthanizing animals when directed by Animal Shelter Manager. Starting pay rate is $8.82 hourly.
CONCESSION-RECREATION SUPERVISOR – (Full-time) – OPEN – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Splash in the Boro and the Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department are looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Concessions-Recreation Supervisor. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the operation of all concessions including Splash in the Boro, Athletic complexes, and during Special events for the Department and the Mill Creek Tennis Center operations. Supervisory responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating part-time staff. Candidates must have knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field or a minimum of 2 years experience related to the position. HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I (Full-time) – OPEN – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is for an equipment operator and future supervision of inmates. The duties of this position include: operating various equipment used in the maintenance of county roads; assuring work vehicle is stocked with tools and safety equipment; and performing routine preventative maintenance on vehicle and equipment. Must have a Georgia Driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a class C driver’s license. Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent. Starting pay rate $14.17 hourly.
EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (Full-time) – OPEN – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for an Equipment Operator. This position is responsible for maintaining athletic fields, park areas, and facilities according to the directions of the Parks Supervisor. The candidate must be able to operate equipment including mowers, tractors, dump trucks, and small engine equipment to maintain all parks and grounds areas. The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or a G.E.D. and have one to three years of relevant experience. Must have a driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia, and have or be able to obtain a CDL issued by the State of Georgia. Pay range is $10.75 – $13.44 depending on experience. CORRECTIONAL OFFICER – WORK DETAIL (Full-time) – OPEN – ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
This position is responsible for supervising inmates involved in right-of-way maintenance on county roads. The duties of this position are varied; serving as a hand labor detail performing various duties including but not limited to picking up litter, maintaining drainage systems, clearing of vegetation. This position exercises supervisory control over inmates. Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent; a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia, and be P.O.S.T. Certified for Corrections Officers (CO). Certified Correctional Officers will be hired starting at $11.91 an hour. Drug screening, background check, and driving history are required prior to hire.
