Garrett Nevil was born in Bulloch County in 1944. He graduated from Statesboro High School in 1962, where he was a member of the track team and also played on the football and basketball teams. After high school, Mr. Nevil went on to obtain a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Georgia Southern College in 1966.
Mr. Nevil served as Vice President of lending at Sea Island bank where he worked for 28 years in agricultural and consumer lending. He is currently a member of the Development Authority of Bulloch County Board, Airport Board, and serves on the Ogeechee Law Enforcement Academy Advisory Board. Mr. Nevil has also served on the Ogeechee Hospice Board and was a Board member on the Peanut Producers Association.
Mr. Nevil married his high school sweet heart, Emily Brannen, in June of 1966. Mr. and Mrs. Nevil have three daughters and three grandchildren. Mr. Nevil is a member of the Statesboro First Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, and gardening.
