The Board of Commissioners meet twice monthly for its regularly scheduled meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Temporarily, meetings are held at the Bulloch County Ag Center at 151 Langston Chapel Road due to construction on the Annex.
First Tuesday meeting is held at 5:30 pm and has zoning items on the agenda.
The third Tuesday meeting is held at 8:30 am.

Roy Thompson

Representing District 2C
Roy Thompson was elected to serve as a Bulloch County Commissioner in 2004. Then, re-elected in 2008 and 2012. In 2016, he was elected to serve as Chairman and re-elected in 2020 to serve a second term.
Thompson was born and raised in Bulloch County and graduated from Georgia Southern College with a BS in Recreation.
Thompson and his wife, Deborah, have been married for 52 years. They have two children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Owners of Statesboro Floor Covering, Inc., this family business was started by his parents in 1952.
Thompson and his wife are members of First Baptist Church of Statesboro.
He believes by working together, all things are possible.
Anthony Simmons was elected to serve as a Bulloch County Commissioner in 1993 and has served 29 years on the Board.
Simmons was raised in Bulloch County and graduated from Fort Valley State University with a BS in Sociology and from Nova Southern University with a Masters in Child and Youth Administration.
Simmons is married to Joyce Simmons and they have two children and two grandchildren.
Throughout his political career, Simmons continues to love every minute of it and he hosts to have made a lifetime impact on his constituents and the citizens of Bulloch County.
Ray Mosley was elected to serve as a Bulloch County Commissioner in 2012. Prior to being elected in 2012, Commissioner Mosley was appointed by Bulloch County’s Superior Court Judges in 2004 to serve six months of an unexpired term of Commissioner Gordon Alston who passed away February 29, 2004. He was later appointed to fill the unexpired term of Commissioner George Jackson March 16, 2010 by Bulloch County’s Superior Court Judges.
Mosley was born and raised in Bulloch County and attended the public schools of Bulloch County.
He has spent more than 37 years in the manufacturing industry and currently works for Brodie Meter LLC as a Plant Manager.
Mosley is married to Odean Mosley and they have two children and two grandchildren. He and his family attend Banks Creek Primitive Baptist Church where he serves as the Chairman of the Deacon Ministry.
His person mission statement is to “live and work in a manner that will impact those around him in a positive way.”
Timmy Rushing was elected to serve as a Bulloch County Commissioner in 2018.
Rushing was born and raised in Bulloch County in the town of Register. He has been self-employed since 1989 and now owns several businesses.
Rushing and his wife, Julie Lewis Rushing, have been married for 30 years and have three children and two grandchildren. Rushing is a member of Register Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon.
His goal is to serve the citizens of Bulloch County to the best of his ability.
Jasper (Jappy) Stringer was elected to serve as a Bulloch County Commissioner in 2016 and was re-elected in 2020 to serve a second term.
Stringer was born and raised in Bulloch County and attended Georgia Southern University, where he is an alumni of the Sigma Chi fraternity of ETA ZETA chapter.
He and his wife, Emily, ran Stringer Chevron, a full-service gas station and garage for 30 years. Stringer also served as a volunteer for the Statesboro Fire Department and Bulloch County EMS Rescue Team for over 30 years until his retirement.
Married for over 40 years, Stringer and his wife have two children and two grandchildren. He and his family attend First Baptist Church of Statesboro.
Stringer’s goal as Commissioner is to be a fair and objective leader and to address the challenges faced in overseeing the finances of County government. He is also an advocate of public safety and public works within the County.
Deal was first elected in 2016 as a Bulloch County Commissioner for District 2A and re-elected in 2020.
Curt graduated from Statesboro High School in 1990. After attending Georgia Southern, he earned a mortuary science degree from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in 1994. During the past 28 years, he has served the funeral industry as both a sales consultant and a funeral director.
Deal was a devoted volunteer with the Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks & Recreation Department for over 10 years.
Curt is married to his wife, Jenni, and they were blessed with three children Hannah, Harrison and Halli. Harrison was tragically killed in an automobile accident December 4, 2020.
In addition to serving as commissioner, Deal is a member of the Bulloch County Economic Development Authority Board of Directors. Deal is also considered a Certified County Commissioner.
