ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST (FT)
Department/Division: Public Works (Position: 1338)

This position is responsible for providing specialized clerical support for the Bulloch County Public Works Division. Duties will include providing administrative and secretarial support for management of the Division; screening phone calls/emails and initiating appropriate action; preparing documents, reports, spreadsheets, invoices, and other deliverables; and performing data entry tasks. Incumbent will coordinate with other departments to perform tasks related to finance, purchasing, and human resources functions. Candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by two years’ experience in providing administrative or clerical support. A valid Georgia driver’s license with an acceptable driving history is required. Minimum starting pay is $14.46 per hour. Position will be open until filled.
AGRICULTURAL COMPLEX SUPPORT STAFF (PT)

These positions are responsible for various duties at the Bulloch County Agricultural Complex. All assignments are part-time and require day, night, and weekend schedules. Most assignments require a high school diploma or GED and a valid Georgia driver’s license with acceptable driving history. Assignments include:
- Facility Maintenance Worker – Trash/litter pickup; general maintenance of buildings and grounds. Will require operation of motors and small engine equipment. $7.25 per hour.
- Facility Maintenance Worker I – Trash/litter pickup; general maintenance of buildings and grounds. Will require operation of tractors, mowers, and small engine equipment. $7.60 per hour.
- Facility Maintenance Worker II – Assisting with event setups/teardowns, barn cleaning, and building/grounds maintenance. Will require operation of dump truck, tractors, mowers, and small engine equipment. $8.25 per hour.
- Event Coordinator – Stall/campsite rentals, facilitating shavings sales, data entry, and assisting with renter needs. $8.00 per hour.
BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (FT)
Department/Division: General Government Buildings (Position: 1427)

This position is responsible for general maintenance and basic repairs at Bulloch County buildings and facilities. Duties will include basic HVAC maintenance; basic electrical repair work; building envelope inspections, to include roofs, gutters, windows, etc.; maintenance and repairs of plumbing, water fountains, and water heaters; basic rough and finished carpentry work; and painting/staining/sealing various surfaces. Candidate must be skilled in the operation of hand tools and power tools and able to read and interpret plans, technical manuals, and/or drawings. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with five (5) years’ experience in carpentry and general maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. A valid Georgia driver’s license with an acceptable driving history is required. Minimum starting pay is $15.07 per hour. Position will be open until filled.
CORRECTIONS OFFICER (FT)
Department/Division: Correctional Institute (Position: 1231)

This position is responsible for providing and maintaining security, safety, care, and control at Bulloch County Correctional Institute. The incumbent will ensure inmates’ safety and security; respond to alarms; locate and remove contraband; participate in intake and inmate escorts/transport; ensure safety and security of facility, facility staff, and visitors; and document daily activities, counts, and other information. Position requires a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by one year of work experience. A valid Georgia driver’s license with an acceptable driving history is required, as is Basic Correctional Officer certification from Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.). Minimum starting pay is $14.93 per hour. Position will be open until filled.
DIGITAL MEDIA SUMMER INTERN (PT/Temporary)

Bulloch County is seeking an intern to create digital media content (photography, videography, graphics, etc.) that will inform and connect with County employees, applicants, citizens, and visitors. The selected intern will attend meetings, visit County departments, and observe County operations to identify activities and themes to be used in digital media format; prepare scripts for video products; capture photos and video segments; and edit video and other content to ensure a seamless and professional end result. A creative individual with videography experience is desired; access to video equipment and/or editing software is a plus. Acceptable driver’s history and criminal background are required. To qualify for this internship, candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate (including high school/college dual enrollment) or graduate degree program or must have graduated from college within six months of the internship start date. The assignment will begin no sooner than May 1, 2021, and end no later than September 30, 2021; the intern will work no more than 200 total hours during the internship. Pay rate is $14.00 per hour. FIREFIGHTER TRAINEE (FT)
Department/Division: Fire (Multiple Positions Available)

This position is responsible for acquiring the requisite knowledge and skills to respond to various emergencies, including fires, accidents, and medical emergencies. Duties will include fire suppression, ventilation, search/rescue, cleaning/inspection of equipment, data entry, routine maintenance/repair, and community outreach. Selected candidates will attend basic firefighting training and must become Georgia Firefighter certified within 12 months. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or GED and a valid Georgia driver’s license. (Must obtain Class F or better driver’s license within 6 months from date of hire.) A post-offer drug screen, candidate physical agility test (CPAT), and medical clearance will be required. Incumbents in these positions will work a “24 on/48 off” schedule after receiving Firefighter 1 certification to provide round-the-clock coverage and response. Minimum starting pay is $11.60 per hour, with a pay increase following successful completion of training and certification.

Candidates must be able to operate backhoes, loaders, and similar equipment used for road maintenance and emergency response. This is the second level of a multiple level series and requires operation of equipment and vehicles requiring a higher level of skills to drive and maneuver. HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR II/WORK DETAIL SUPERVISOR (FT)

HVAC TECHNICIAN (FT)
Department/Division: General Government Buildings (Position: 1042)

This position is responsible for general maintenance and repair of HVAC, minor electrical/lighting, and locking/securing systems. Duties will include installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of commercial and residential heating and air conditioning equipment, including preventive maintenance, visual inspection, parts replacement, and maintenance of air handlers and other heating/cooling equipment. Candidate will be responsible for other skilled work (carpentry, plumbing, electrical) to complete assignments and will perform other building construction and remodeling functions. LANDSCAPE SUPERVISOR (FT)

This position is responsible for supervising operations and staff involved in installing and maintaining landscaping. Incumbent will oversee, direct, and evaluate assigned staff and will assign crew members to various tasks such as trimming shrubs/trees, installing straw/mulch, removing weeds, and planting annuals. Duties will also include preparing and revising landscape bed design, conducting purchasing functions as needed, and inspecting project sites for safety and landscape maintenance issues. MAGISTRATE COURT CLERK I (FT)

PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKER SR (FT)
Department/Division: Recreation/Parks & Grounds (Position: 1387)

This position is responsible for maintaining and preparing athletic fields and parks throughout Bulloch County. Candidates will assist in preparing and laying out fields; mowing, grading, raking, and assisting with irrigation; performing field renovations; maintaining playground equipment; and performing routine maintenance on equipment. Duties may include operation of equipment such as mowers, line trimmers, tractors, and blowers as well as pulling string lines, moving bases, preparing clay infields and painting/chalking field lines. PROBATION OFFICER (FT)

This position enforces sentencing of probation ordered by State Court and involves surveillance, counseling, and coordinating resources to assist probationers. Duties will include processing intakes; counseling; participating in court and court-related activities; investigating/addressing probationer non-compliance; and receiving/processing fines, fees, and restitution. The position requires communication with probationers, attorneys, judges, rehabilitative programs, and other community resources. A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Counseling or a related field, supplemented by one year of experience in criminal justice case management (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) required. A valid Georgia driver’s license with an acceptable driving history is required, as is a P.O.S.T. certification. (Note – Under State of Georgia requirements, to be employed in this position, the incoming employee must be at least 21 years of age and have completed one of the following: 2 years of college from an accredited institution or 4 years of law enforcement experience as a certified peace officer.)
